Due to language, cultural and social barriers, Arab immigrant & refugee families often experience isolation in the greater community.
One of our highest goals and greatest privileges is linking the local Arab immigrant & refugee community in relationships with the local Non-Arab community of Greater Toledo. These relationships foster goodwill, break stereotypes. bring greater awareness to all participants and practical help for our clients and their families. Through this effort, many participants have become active SSFAC volunteers helping families with their own expertise and talents!
SSFAC regularly hosts events that bring the local Arab & Non-Arab Community together. Beyond good food and fun, these events are highly impactful to everyone and everybody feels a little different and blessed.
In the last year we have hosted many events with our collaborative partners, i.e. we host a monthly food pantry with Food For Thought and we collaborate with Salvation Army every summer to provide backpacks and snacks for school-aged children.
Every year through our Without Borders Program, SSFAC hosts a Christmas Party Celebration in December. Please contact us if you would like to host this event at your church or facility.
